造句的乐趣

老师是这样教他们认字的:挂一张大大的照片,要每个孩子说出照片里的一样东西,老师就在旁边写下那个字。接下来几天,让孩子们熟悉那些字。一个星期后,孩子们用自己的字造句,然后尝试读那些句子。

今天老师发给一张纸,上面是同学们造的句子:
  1. The drain is in the curb.
  2. The house has a roof.
  3. The packer has a roller.
  4. The van is behind the signal truck.
  5. Any signal truck that you see has arrows.
  6. The packer is rolling the asphalt.
  7. The house has chimneys and shingles.
  8. The truck is parked out of the garage.
  9. The rock garden has junipers.
  10. The signal truck is far from the garage.
  11. The car is behind the grader.
  12. The trees have shadows.
  13. The workman who is wearing a vest and a hardhat is standing beside the grader.

“哪一句是你写的?”

“第五句。”

“怎么会想到这样的句子?”

“想了好久才想到怎样不以The开头。其他句子都是The开头的,同学们读到第五句,还是The...老师就会更正他们。你说这是不是一个很妙的陷阱?”
